How can anyone can turn a blind eye to Trump’s chaotic immigration policy is beyond the pale. It is shameful and a permanent stain on a nation that used to welcome immigrants with open arms:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Just consider this from the 10/22/18 Department of Homeland Security's Inspector General Report:

At least 2,654 immigrant children were separated from their parents or caregivers as a result of Trump administration policies.
The median length of detention so far is 154 days — more than five months. Some have been in detention as long as a year.
At least 120 of these children continue to be separated from their parents.
